Lootah Industries PLC is the only Local Smart Card manufacturer in Ethiopia, manufacturing SIM cards, Voucher Cards, Banking Cards, Driving License, Registration Certificate Cards, Health Cards and National ID Cards as well as Lootah Industries will be exporting Smart Cards to all the neighbouring countries in Africa.

Lootah bring this Technology and capability to this country. Main factors of this project are cost savings, employment, and foreign currency savings. The clients will benefit, since Lootah Industries will be signing the agreements in local currency and will be a win-win situation for both parties. Since it’s a local manufacturing company the supplies to the clients will be at a short notice which will support them to plan their inventories and finance.

This is the first Secured Personalization facility within the country and 1^st of its kind of project in Ethiopia and most of Africa. Lootah Industries has done a large capital investment in this Hi-Tech project which will generate local employment for 500+ employees and Ethiopia will become a hub for Smart Card manufacturing in Africa. As a part of future, Lootah Industries plan to have $100 Mn investment in coming years in Ethiopia.
